IIIT-Delhi Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi B.Tech. Admission 2012

Starting from 2012, IIIT-Delhi is offering B.Tech. programs in both CSE (Computer Science and Engineering) and ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering). Details of the programs are given at http://www.iiitd.ac.in/education/btech

Application Process

1. Make sure you are eligible as per details given.

2. Challan form can be downloaded for Delhi students visit http://www.iiitd.ac.in/sites/default/files/docs/admissions/2012/Bank%20Challan%20Delhi.pdf and for Outside Delhi students click http://www.iiitd.ac.in/sites/default/files/docs/admissions/2012/Bank%20Challan%20Outside%20Delhi.pdf.

3. Take the print out of the challan form and fill it. Challan form has three copies:

· To be attached with the form

· Candidates copy

· Will be retained by the bank

4. Deposit the fee through the challan form at the cash counter in any of the branches of HDFC bank. Receipt of admission fee in HDFC Bank will commence on 25th May, 2012 and will close on 10th June, 2012 (For Outside Delhi Date will be extended suitably on declaration of AIEEE results).

5. Challan number will be given by the cashier on deposit of fees. You cannot fill up the application form without this number.

6. Fill up the online application form click http://119.226.214.30/IIITD/IIITD-JAN-2012/

7. Take a print out of the form.

8. Send the print-out along with the institute challan copy at the address mentioned in admission brochure. Last date of receipt of the print-out is 10th June, 2012.

Eligibility

· 80% or more marks in the aggregate and 80% or more in Mathematics in class XII from CBSE/ICSE/IB board or equivalent

· If a board has more then five subjects for aggregate, then best five will be taken.

· Relaxation for reserved categories:

· 10% for SC/ST

· 5% for CW

· 5% for PH

· Students from any stream with Mathematics as one of his/her class XII subjects can apply.

· Additional criteria for admission in ECE program: Physics in Class XII.

If the result of 10+2 is not declared by the respective board, then the student can sit for exam, but at the time of counselling he/she has to produce the certificate of class 10+2 result fulfilling the eligibility criteria.

Reservation of Seats

The number of seats for the CSE & ECE programs starting in 2012 is 120 & 40 respectively, of which 85% are reserved for Delhi students and 15% for outside Delhi students. The Institute may increase the number of seats, based on recommendations of its Board, but any such increase will be announced before declaration of result of the entrance test.
