Post Graduate Programme Financial Markets (PGP-FM)
The Post Graduate Programme in Financial Market is a one year programme designed jointly by NIFMand NSE with the objective of developing professionals capable of occupying positions of responsibility in stock exchanges, commodity exchanges, regulatory bodies, market intermediaries, banks, mutual funds, asset management companies and other similar entities
Duration: 1 year, full time
Class room teaching (10 months, including 1 week international attachment) (840 hours, 420 hours each from faculty by NSE and NIFM)
Internship/project (2 months)
Skill development (200 hours through market simulation internet based software from NSE (NSE Learn to Trade)
Eligibility Criteria
Private Participants/Corporate Executives: All participants must have completed graduation or a degree equivalent with at least 50% in aggregate from an Indian University/Institutions recognized by Association of Indian Universities
Professional qualifications like CA/CS/CWA/CFA/MBA etc would have an added advantage
Candidates in the final year of graduation may apply
Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the programme provisionally only
Their admission will be confirmed only when they submit their mark sheet of having passed their bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification with at least 50% marks
The deadline for submission of the mark sheet is 31st December, 2012
Non-fulfillment of this condition will automatically result in the cancellation of the provisional admission
Government Executives: Officers at middle/senior level working with the Central or State Governments, Public Enterprises and autonomous organizations belonging to State/Central Government; or
Similar participants from foreign countries
Minimum percentage of marks at graduation level should be 50%
Scoring higher percentage at higher levels such as post graduation would not relax the minimum percentage requirement at graduation level
The upper age limit for all participants would be 50 years on the date of commencement of the programme
Sponsorship from the employer Govt/organization
Application Process: Candidates having valid CAT/MAT/XAT score
The candidates who have valid CAT/MAT/XAT score are not required to appear for NIFM-NSE online test
They can send application in prescribed form which can be downloaded from the NSE/NIFM website
The completed application along with resume, proof of educational qualifications, work experience (if any), copy of CAT/MAT/XAT score card and a demand draft of Rs 900/- drawn in favour of National Institute of Financial Management; payable at New Delhi or Faridabad, be sent to National Stock Exchange of India Ltd, 4th Floor, Jeevan Vihar Building, Parliament Street, New Delhi-110001
The envelop should be super scribed by Application for PGP-FM
Alternatively, one can submit the application by paying Rs 900/- in cash at National Stock Exchange of India Ltd, New Delhi
NIFM-NSE On line Test: The candidates who do not have valid CAT/MAT/XAT score are required to appear for NIFM-NSE Online test
The test will be conducted on 30th June, 2012 or 01st July, 2012 in 12 different cities
Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai
For the test are required to register on the NSE website by following the procedure for online registration for NSE’s Certification in Financial Markets (NCFM)
Login to www.nseindia.com and go to Education menu
Click on Register for NIFM-NSE online test
You will begin the process as New User and thereafter follow all the steps as required for registration as an NCFM candidate and set your user ID and password
You will receive NCFM ID via SMS, email, and also on the website
You can now login with your user ID and password
You can pay the fees of Rs 900/-, book your seat for the NIFM-NSE online test, in any of the aforesaid 12 cities, on 30th June, 2012 or 01st July, 2012 subject to availability of seats on first come first served basis
An online hall ticket for the NIFM-NSE online test will be generated for which you should take the printout
You need to carry this hall ticket along with ID proof for appearing in the test
Selection Procedure: NIFM-NSE online objective type test will held on 30th June, 2012 and 01st July, 2012
It is not mandatory for those who have already taken CAT/MAT/XAT
The online test will consist of Verbal Ability (30%), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (30%), Quantitative Aptitude (30%), General Knowledge of Financial Markets (10%)
The online objective type test will be of 2 hours duration with negative marking
The personal interview of shortlisted candidates will be held at NSE office in New Delhi
In order to save travel time and cost of outstation candidates, NIFM-NSE also conducts interviews through video conference using Skype
As an outstation candidate you have the choice to come for personal interview or opt for video interview
If the candidates opting for video interview, we recommend to open Skype account (if candidates do not have)
The government sponsored and corporate sponsored candidates are eligible for direct admission to full time Post Graduate Programme in Financial Markets without undergoing online test and interview
The selected candidates would have to show originals and submit self-attested photocopies of the following documents at the time of registration; copy of 10th/12th and graduation mark sheet; copy of your character certificate/birth certificate; copy of your CAT/XAT/MAT score card; employment certificate from the employer for sponsored candidates.
